Boondox Back? New ICP Video Suggests He Might Be!

I was just looking up info to see if I can get Fuse TV for the new Insane Clown Posse show (I can't in Canada and that sucks) and instead I found a new music video for When I'm Clownin off of The Mighty Death Pop! I have to say I was surprised when Boondox showed his scarecrow face on the screen out of nowhere halfway through. Check my screen cap below.

With Twiztid performing with ICP still and Boondox featured in a video and no hard feelings in sight I guess all the drama might be sorted out over at the hatchet. Hopefully Boondox has some more good albums left in him.

Art/Crime Inner Depavity / Article 163

In October of 2009 an attack on the horror community began in Montreal, Canada. The victim makeup effects artist Remy Couture was contacted just days earlier by a couple wanting use of his craft to create some disturbed halloween family photos, a session was booked and Remy was preparing for his new friendly clients to show up to his office so the fun could begin. However the couple "couldn't find" his studio and he was instructed to come outside so he could direct them to the proper residence. When outside Remy was tackled to the ground, identified and hauled off in an unmarked car by a group of plain clothed officers. Scared these weren't really officers, Remy found some relief when escorted into a police station for interrogation. The fear was gone, but the confusion set in as Remy was told he was the target of an international operation to investigate his portfolio turned fake snuff website innerdepravity.com! The investigation of a phoney online photo and video album featuring the fake acts of a demented serial killer are understandable, what followed however was not. Upon realizing that the realistic nature of the photo's and video's could only be attributed to Remy's amazing skill as a horror themed artist the police kept their grip of Remy and began creating a case to charge him with corruption of morals under Canadian law; which if convicted could put Remy Couture away for 2 years when the only thing he is guilty of is having enough dedication to really kick ass at his job.

This documentary is the exhaustive story from the early concept of Morgue666.com to it's evolution and improvement InnerDepravity.com and the controversy that followed. The documentary is exhaustive speaking to every resource; models, famous artists, police, criminologists, and the list goes on and on. After hearing and seeing this insane story unfold head on over to the special features and you get to experience everything Inner Depravity ever offered to it's users. Not only do I highly recommend this title, I also suggest buying it from the source if you're interested. The fight might be over for now but Remy Couture still needs this support to cover his expensive legal fees. If you want to support, check out supportremy.com where you can buy this DVD or a sweet T shirt or something.

Extra Entrails

Although police and media twisted words to make him look unsuitable as a human being let alone an artist, Remy Couture was finally found not guilty in late 2012!

Remy Couture did makeup on the very bloody and violent Punisher: Warzone!

Shock Festival

Shock Festival is a 3 disc set tribute to the golden age of Grindhouse cinema.
Disc One’s first feature is a fan made phony trailer marathon from mainly B movie filmmakers including David Hartman (Spiderman, Bubba-Ho Tep), Richard Griffin (Feeding the Masses), Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog), and Michael Gingold (Managing editor of Fangoria Magazine). The second feature comes in the form of an Exploitation trailer marathon. Over 40 trailers including such classics as Cornbread, Earl and Me, Flesh Gordon, and Venom to name a few!
Disc Two serves up an offering of buckets of blood, and creature features in an ultimate horror marathon. Another 40+ trailers including Deep Red, God Told Me To, and Black Belly of the Tarantula. If that’s not enough to fill your brain pans there’s also a T.V. spot marathon of vintage re-mastered trailers, and a poster gallery. Lastly just when you thought you were safe,  another 10 trailer marathon brought to you by the most notorious exploitation distributor of the 1970′s, Independent International!
Disc Three puts the icing on this bloody exhaustive cake with Radio Shock Festival which includes over 300 radio spots to fill your DIE-Pod! All this and even more as the set is packaged with a book of how this wonderful DVD came to be, as well as a mini poster that’s good enough to frame!

Brimming with heroes, villains, monsters, aliens, mutants, cops, porn stars, etc. It’s all over the map, from the B movie underground, to the Hollywood hills, and beyond. It’s seven hours of blood, nudity, monsters, and makeup effects!

Shock Festival is a great set, there is so much on display it’s hard to remember everything on one watch alone. By owning shock festival you have enough content to have multiple movie nights with friends.  The set has everything, the only thing you need to provide is alcohol, and friends to have an unforgettable experience in Grindhouse trash cinema.

This set is absolutely amazing! You can tell the love of trash cinema was the driving force behind the project. It gave me everything I was looking for, and maybe even a little more. I’ll let the classy words of one Stephen Romano close off this review “Watch my DVD or I’ll blow your fucking head off.”

Pacific Rim

I've been waiting for this movie for years since it was first announced so I had extremely high hopes for Pacific Rim. Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim takes us to a world where the biggest threat to man is Monster, not just Monster, but giant sized city crushing Monster. In the wake of the attacks the corners of the world have banded together building behemoth robotic weapons to take out the giant monster threat once and for all.  Monsters are continuing to evolve though causing the mechanical weaponized suits to be obsolete on arrival.

Right off the bat Pacific Rim is a fanboy dream as Del Toro refers to the Monsters as Kaiju, the Japanese definition of strange creature, which has been re-translated through pop culture as giant monster, or man in suit movies like Godzilla. Del Toro is a geek for this stuff and expertly transferred that love to film. From the very second this movie started I felt like I was in that world, as a monster destroys a city bridge I felt as if I was in that screen, at the base of the beast staring at it's endless form towering into the clouds; a magical moment heavily influenced by the insane 3D achieved in filming.
Anime fans and sci fi lovers alike will also see lots to love in the Evangellion-esque robots on display; every detail is rendered perfectly, they carry the weight with realism and the damage they endure/ dish out is to the scale one would expect and hope for. There is more destruction in Pacific Rim than in any weak attempt at Kaiju Hollywood has ever tried in the past. This is the Kaiju movie I've been waiting for, the monsters in design appear that they could be men in suits, but they move a whole lot quicker and more seamless than what us Kaiju fans are used to.

Pacific Rim is a royale rumble of Monsters and Robots, but lets not forget about the pilots and the people. Everyone has a story to tell as rich as the last and everyone's story comes full circle. Without being a full TV series given the run time; Pacific Rim from story to action delivers everything one could ever hope for in this scenario, hopefully there is an extended version or a sequel that gives time to further flesh out every experience Pacific Rim delivers.

I loved Pacific Rim, give me more of this world and these characters wether it's through animation, extended versions of the film, TV, comic books, and especially a video game give me more! Pacific Rim needs your help; see it ASAP, pay to see it, invite your friends, bring your mom, it's the only way to tell Hollywood that Del Toro is the man!

Pacific Rim crushed my expectations, you have to see this movie, and you're cheating yourself if you miss it on the big screen.

Sharknado

Sharks rain from tornadoes causing a wave of destruction and panic over the city in the newest Sci Fi epic from Asylum films. The concepts of these bad CGI films from the SciFi network are always great but unfortunately they usually take once mainstream actors and focus on them to please a mainstream audience. Personally I don't care about Tara Reid, or some fool from Beverly Hills 90210 at all, the only thing I was interested in was shark filled tornado's and I never really got my fill with Sharknado.

When the shark's do take centre stage Sharknado kicks all kinds of ass, but those moments are too few to ever want to sit through Sharknado. I'm not saying you shouldn't watch Sharknado, what I am saying  is if like me you are sitting there asking yourself when are the sharks coming and is there any reason I shouldn't be just fast forwarding to the shark parts? The answer is no, there's nothing worth seeing other than the shark parts so don't waste your time with the rest. The reason why these movies suck past their original concept is because they seem to take themselves 100% too seriously. In a movie like this I want, scratch that, I need one liners, I don't need a family coming together story; that shits boring and they do it every damn time. So Sci Fi you fail once again even though most will say you didn't just because the shark parts are really, really, cool; the gore is plentiful, and although the sharks are bad CGI that doesn't stop them from stealing the show. The company needs to re-evaluate their writing style and stop attempting to write emotional dramas into bad movies, they don't mix! You don't need story when you have a SHARKNADO, or a giant Sasquatch or a Sharktopus or anything of the sort; just STOP!

Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger Part IV

An inter-dimensional tear caused by an explosion at the Tromaville School For The Very Special causes Toxie (The worlds only hideously deformed creature of superhuman size and strength from New Jersey) to switch places with his evil doppelganger The Noxious Offender of the opposite Amortville.
All the main players in the movie have an incredible onscreen chemistry. They are artists of the crude humour on display keeping a pace that rarely feels dull. No matter what gross moment is going down, they always show a lot of heart, which makes all the characters really loveable.
“Heroes don’t double amputate police chiefs, or throw twelve year old girls into brick walls!” The gore is really well imagined and with all the kills, surprisingly never the same twice. A hilarious low budget blood bath from opening to closing credits.

If you like Troma, you should love this movie. The majority of the comedy hits the mark. I find myself laughing just as hard as I did the first time I saw it, everytime I watch. It literally crosses every genre of film seamlessly.

This is a best of collaboration from the Troma Universe with Toxie leading the pack. The movie is a disgusting masterpiece that rarely misses the mark. The majority of the run time is filled up with naked women, tons of blood, and yet it still manages to have a relevant story that makes sense. Not many movies out there can find balance in every category like that. This is an essential buy and deserves to be in every horror or schlock fans library.

Cam Girl

The synopsis on the back cover reads, "Student Mary O'Brian becomes a Cam girl to make ends meet, but winds up with an obsessed client with strange fantasies who is involved with sinister forces unbeknownst to Mary."

I'm writing this as I watch and I have to say this might be the worst atrocity I have ever seen. I've seen this girl strip in front of the camera so many times that the nudity has lost any kind of excitement or meaning. I've come to the point that I'm now analysing the shitty paint job on the fucking 4 walls around her that have imprisoned me for the duration.  Ever wanted to see the day in a life of a cam girl as she strips, reads instant messages and mumbles her typed responses before going to the kitchen to make a sandwich to stick in her whore mouth as she lays down to cry about her lazy ass not making enough money to cover the rent? This is voyeurism of a pathetic dullard who fucking sucks at life and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse I swear a fucking Disneyesque song called camera girl just started playing to poke some laughable sadness out of the situation. The last 3 minutes a weak killer was introduced to off the cam girl, it didn't even show her get killed...... So they made sure they filmed every dull second of this piece of trash's life and didn't even reward us with the courtesy of being a voyeur to her demise? Cam Girl is an unacceptable chunk of vomit that comes on the 7 movie set Grindhouse Galore (Nothing Grindhouse about this bitch) I only paid a dollar for each movie technically and that's exactly how I feel, I just had a 1 hour and 18 minute session with a dollar whore, I had better get tested! Surely the rest of these movies can't be that bad?

Black Candles

A couple travels to England for a funeral. While staying with her sister-in-law, the woman soon finds her husband seduced by a satanic cult living in the house. Let the bestial black mass / blood orgy begin!!!

We get to know the characters a little too well, and let’s just say I’ve now seen enough 70’s bush to last me a lifetime. The movie is filled with bizarre, wacky characters in all forms of  undress and I enjoyed how seriously it played out. It’s bad soft core porn with a shot of depravity, how can’t you love the players in that game?

As far as gore is concerned I figure bestial, black mass, blood orgy was a pretty good description by itself.  When they did stop having sex long enough to spill blood though, it didn’t disappoint.

While not a masterpiece, Black Candles serves it’s purpose: to disgust normal people (and slightly entertain us weirdos). It’s quite funny, but the filmmakers purpose was grindhouse sexploitation and unfortunately they don’t stray for long before returning to the symphony of testicle slaps.

Big Hoodoo Crystal Skull

The newest protege of Insane Clown Posse has finally been revealed as the African Voodoo Witch Doctor Big Hoodoo who has an uncanny resemblance to WWE's underutilised wrestler the Boogeyman! Big Hoodoo's debut album Crystal Skull just dropped from the duo's Psychopathic Records label following the departure of the label's horror feature heavy weight's Twiztid. Although that has nothing to do with Crystal Skull's release, it has everything to do with the artist and albums success because fans are going to use Twiztid as the measuring stick of what to expect from the label. Given Twiztid is irreplaceable Big Hoodoo is not going to get a fair shake from ICP's dedicated fan base.  That being said I don't give a shit about any of the politics, I'm here to ignore shitty music and enjoy good music and given that logic this is my review of Big Hoodoo's debut Crystal Skull.

Intro - They could have done so very many interesting things to introduce this mysterious new entity to the fans, but they kind of wasted the opportunity. This intro isn't memorable in the least unlike most other Psychopathic intro's I'll probably be deleting this from my itunes. It's just wasted space.

Hexed - I first listened to this track on my iphone when the video was released as a teaser before the album dropped. I really didn't like it. But I gave it another chance while on my computer and actually really got into it enough to buy the album. The moral of the story being don't judge a book by how it sounds through shitty iphone speakers. Hexed serves as a decent intro to Big Hoodoo and his mythos. It's fairly catchy, but you'll notice BH isn't gifted with a great voice for flow, that's not saying he's a bad rapper he just has a more blunt delivery. It's something you have to get past and get used to. Hexed is your introduction to the witch doctor and the magic within the pages of his book of hex. The "throw a Hex" interruption annoyed me at first, but it's grown on me now.

The Raven - What do you know Hoodoo can also fly! The track talks about Hoodoo flying over the streets of the hood with his magic raven wings which sounds much cooler than my description. The first few times much like the "throw a Hex" lyric in Hexed the "gotta black set of wings under this cloak bitch" interrupting the flow was irritating me, but the more I listen the more it blends with the beat . The Raven sports one of the catchiest hooks in the album and I can't help, but want to move when it kicks in. I can't dance though so maybe I'll just start flapping my arms around like a weirdo instead.

Give It Life - One of my favourites of the album, the beat sounds like a mix of Milenko and Dark Lotus. Hoodoo builds his Frankenstein's monster. Not a new concept to psychopathic and it stacks up against all the other songs sharing this theme we've heard before. No complaints with this one, it's pretty fucking awesome.

Mountain Climbing - The token song featuring Violent J about the success of Psychopathic that's on every side projects album. I'm not complaining, J impresses with a sick verse, Hoodoo proves he can rub elbows with the best, and Awesome Dre shows that being Awesome is better than being a Doctor. Great flow, catchy hook, I really like this one.

Blitzed - A decent track about getting fucked up on everything you can shoot, huff, snort, or smoke. It's fairly catchy, fun and enjoyable, not one of my favourites, but not at all bad.

Never Had - Pretty intense depressing song about child abuse. It goes so far and mean you have to question it's validity, but the emotion behind it certainly makes you feel it's probably not far from the truth. It's a great track that gives you a little more of a peek behind the face paint of the fictional character to see the man who dons it.

Dark Side - It's sometimes all about the way an album is built and the order it is put in. Dark Side is nice follow up to Never Had focusing more on the negativity's of the world and how it has effected this character/man. Overall a good tune.

Crystal Skull - Crystal Skull returns us to the party as Hoodoo gets drunk drinking his Crystal Skull (possibly the vodka) and impressing people with his voodoo magic. Great party tune and drinking song!

Spells - Spells is a stupid song featuring Insane Clown Posse about spell casting, and I'm not insulting it, but you can tell the artists are just having fun with the concept to make a dumb fun little song. Sounds like light hearted classic old school 80's - 90's mainstream hip hop. The fun the artists are having rubs off on the listener spell casting a smile. (yea that was cheesy)

Happily Ever After - Another song about falling in love from a distance. Fantasising about the perfect woman who is a complete stranger. Only Hoodoo contemplates casting a spell to catch his trophy wife. A slow plodding catchy track, easy to relate and enjoy.

My Homie - Hoodoo won't let go of his friend even after death. Resurrecting a Zombie turns out to be a bad idea when Hoodoo's dead friend starts trying to eat people. Good times!

The Jinx - Jinxing haters is the theme of the Jinx. The flow of this song is truly fucking awesome. Personally I hate the whole "hater" thing in hip hop, it's just played out, but I do really like this song the writing is great and it's catchy as Hell.

Detroit Murderous - Another song about how awful it must be to visit or live in Detroit. Sounds hard as Hell to survive the very real crime rate and violence it's known for. Probably why so much success springs from the city, desperation helps overcome unbeatable odds in order to escape. Good True Crime style gangsta rap style track. Hard lives produce greatness.

The World is Very Different - A very real look about how shitty and complacent society has gotten to bullshit, every time you see it get better, you learn it's just always been worse than you could ever imagine.

Overall Big Hoodoo has produced a heavyweight album with few weaknesses that unfortunately will be mostly ignored by the masses. It's hard being the new kid and it's even harder to overcome that status to gain acceptance, and I certainly hope Big Hoodoo has it in him to stick it out, I for one would like to hear more of this entity.

Also note, I don't believe Big Hoodoo says juggalo once in the album and that in itself is fucking refreshing.

Thanks to Jen & Sylvia Soska for taking the time to do this! The Soska sisters have always loved film. Since childhood, they were heavily involved in acting. Above all, they had a special place in their twisted little hearts for horror. In elementary school, they began reading Stephen King novels, much to the dismay of their teachers. They would go to video stores and sneak over to the horror selection and look at the backs of all the boxes. When they'd find a "good one", they'd call the other over and then convince their mom to let them take it home. Not satisfied with the stereotypical roles often presented to identical twins, they set out to expand their horizons. Together, they trained in martial arts and hoped it would open up more opportunities and possible open up some stunt performing roles.
Dead Hooker In A Trunk was their debut film. The twins wrote, directed, produced, starred in, and preformed the stunts for the film. They took lessons learned from Rodriguez's book, Rebel Without A Crew, on how film making could be done on a modest budget if you have the creativity and ambition to make your film.
On December 11th of 2008, the twins incorporated their company, giving it the name Twisted Twins Productions. Always knowing that Dead Hooker in a Trunk was the first project of many to come, the twins wanted to create their own label from which all future projects would come.

Plenty Of Horror- What was your first experience with horror, and at what age?

S: We spent much of our young childhood, under ten, haunting the decorated horror section of our local video store. We would look at the boxes, read the descriptions, and make up what we thought the films were about. We begged our mom to let us watch one, which she did when we were ten and that film was POLTERGEIST. We made it through the film, but were terrified when bed time rolled around. My mom did something that would forever change the way that I look at film - she explained what we had actually seen: the actors, the script, the sets, the director, the makeup and FX teams that all worked together with the intention of scaring the audience. It made us hopelessly hooked.

J: Same. We share 30 years of life experiences and in jokes, ha ha.

Plenty Of Horror- What attracted you to horror initially?

S: I can't remember ever not being attracted to it. We were drawn to things that others weren't. I remember playing with spiders my whole life. Once as a child at a BBQ, I showed a nice garden spider that I was playing with to family friends and I could see the horror on their faces. They ran off and screamed. I didn't understand why that happened, but it fascinated me. What frightens people still fascinates me.

J: I don't remember a time not being into horror. It just kind of chose us. Our parents always encouraged our interests and they just leaned towards horror. Our mum had and still has this massive collection of Stephen King novels. She was very clever in the way she allowed us to read them. She said if we read the novel, we could watch the film. This jump started our reading in a life changing way. In Elementary School, we'd sit there and read with our King novels and dictionaries and thesauruses. We were reading at a highschool level fast. I blame my mum and mister King for our sense of humor as well. I feel that good horror has to have elements of comedy to them. If you can't laugh at something awful, you're going to have a very hard time in life.

Plenty Of Horror- What is your favorite horror film new and old?

S: My favorite old horror film would be - yikes, what's old now? - like DEAD RINGERS, MAN BITES DOG, HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, AMERICAN PYSCHO. The new ones that I love are THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH, MANBORG, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE, A SERBIAN FILM. Where would AUDITION fit? I love that film too!

J: OH!! Well, clearly everything on Sylv's list, but I'd also like to add... THE THING, THE EVIL DEAD FILMS, THE SHINING, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, I SAW THE DEVIL, THE PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE....

Plenty Of Horror- Do you have a favorite subgenre like Slasher, Zombies, B-movie, etc…?

S: My favorite would be art films if that counts. Sad ones like the ones Lars Von Trier makes.

J: Musical horror. I like the "lulz".

Plenty Of Horror- Are there any films or subgenres you really do not like?

S: I don't like things that are following a subgenre that someone else created that the new filmmaker isn't adding anything to. Zombie films have been done to death, but something that approaches it in a new way like PONTYPOOL is phenomenal. I hate remakes - I really do not like anything that makes profit over someone else's hard work and original vision.

J: No. It's not the genres fault or subgenres fault that some bad films were made in them. I have a real problem with uncreative "found footage" films. However, MAN BITES DOG is one of my favorite films ever. SO well made and the use of putting it in "found footage" form is much more than just a shtick or a way to save money.

Plenty Of Horror- What was the last horror film you saw? What did you think of it?

S: One of the last films I saw was JOHN DIES AT THE END and it was fucking good. To see original, creative thought alive and well in the genre makes me optimistic for the future. Then I see a remake rule the box office and get depressed again. At least I have NYMPHOMANIAC coming out soon to cheer me up!

J: I think it was Jennifer Lynch's CHAINED. I love her. She has this incredible way of making horror so real. I loved it. I love Jennifer Lynch. I loved BOXING HELENA.

Plenty Of Horror- Any favorite Horror themed video game? or band?

S: I used to love Silent Hill until it sold out, losing focus on the atmosphere and story elements that gave it its unique horror reality. My favorite band is Fake Shark-Real Zombie! Their stuff is just fantastic and we've been lucky enough to feature their music in all of our films, even with Kevvy writing original pieces for MARY. They have a new album out - LIAR - I've been listening to it non-stop. Great stuff and if you're curious about what might be on the soundtrack for the next film, definitely check it out.

J: Everything Sylvie just said. I hate what's happened with the SILENT HILL franchise. I wish we could come in and give it a firm kick in the ass. A loving one.

Plenty Of Horror- If you could invite any Horror Movie Icon to your birthday party who would you like to party with the most?

S: Patrick Bateman. Dating is hard when you work so much, so I might as well use this party invite to get laid. That would be a nice birthday present to myself.

J: Oooh.... Patrick Bateman. Totally Patrick Bateman. He could even DJ the party with commentary, ha ha

Plenty Of Horror- I thought Katharine Isabelle did an outstanding job playing Mary Mason, How long did you look to cast the part of Mary Mason? and did you know you had your actress immediately after seeing her?

S: Jen and I have been fans of Katie's work for years, but we were frustrated at the roles that we saw her in. She's so phenomenally talented, but many films don't utilize the calibre of actress they have on their project. We wrote the role for Katie, it might sound cruel considering what she goes through in the film, but it was everything we wanted to see her do in a film. When writing, I feel pretty hard for Mary and started to feel anxious because I didn't really know Katie, I just had all these assumptions from being a fan. We sent her the script and we had a meeting. We ended up closing down three places, up til 5am talking passionately about body modification, the recession, and radical feminism - that night I knew she would be even better than my unrealistically high expectations of her, and I was right.

J: We have a feel for people. You have to when you're a writer and director. Your job is to recreate life and you need to be able to pick up signals and qualities off of people. Most of life is people talking without coming right out and saying what they really mean. You have to read between the lines. You can pick qualities of strength, intellect, bravery, humor, vulnerability... all those attributes were so important to the character of Mary. We saw all of that in Katie and more. She's got this amazing presence. You see her and you just know she's special. We never write for an actor because you just don't know if it'll work out. You end up seeing an actor instead of the character, but Katie IS Mary. She has that power and can show her vulnerability in such a beautiful way. She is one of our generations great actresses and she's more than proven that with the film and in her body of work. You'll certainly be seeing us working together again. We've fallen hopelessly in love now.

Plenty Of Horror- Where did the idea for American Mary come from?

S: We stumbled upon body modification years prior through an April Fool's prank featuring identical twin brothers who swapped limbs. It scared me. My mother taught me that if something frightens you it's because you don't know enough about it, so educate yourself and your fear will be gone. I researched the body mod community endlessly, my fear turned to fascination to admiration. We were in the hospital with ailing loved ones for days on end, out, then back again. Medicine and doctors became a part of our lives as film had. We used mainstream medicine as an analogy for our trials and tribulations in the film industry, and the body mod community for the indie scene. It became a lot more of a personal story with so many elements of our lives in it, but I think that honesty is part of what makes the film what it is.

J: The film is very much an analogy for our own ventures in the film industry. We started out acting and modelling and as you can imagine we came up against so very unsavory characters. I heard the stories, I thought I saw it all. Then when we made DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, we saw a whole new ugly side to this business where as much as we struggled to be seen as equal to our male counter parts, our gender and usually our age became the object of discrimination with many monster producers and execs. We found that the people you're meant to respect and hold in high regard are often the real monsters and the outsiders, the indie brats and the horror community which can appear to look a little different or seem intense are in fact the sweetest, most generous and honest people you'll ever meet. That's largely where our theme, "appearances are everything" came from.
Plenty Of Horror- Now I read on you website that future scripts are The Man Who Kicked Ass, and Bob, Can you tell us what those are about? are they horror? and any possible time frame when you hoping to have the first one done?

S: BOB almost went before MARY because MARY was a very fucking tough sell. BOB is an original monster movie that we are teaming with Masters FX to create something special. The tagline is: There's a monster inside all of us, sometimes it gets out. We're in early prep, hoping to shoot this year. There are also two amazing scripts by one of our favorite artists that we are very excited to bring to the big screen as well as a couple projects we cannot announce quite yet - we're going to be be pretty busy for the rest of our lives which is great. I'd like to put out a new film every year.

J: ha ha, oh, THE MAN WHO KICKED ASS. That's a special one. It's a horror movie, but it's a western. But with a twist. I love old classic westerns. There's a lot of violence in that one. It's a real blood bath. I can't say too much about it, but I can tell you you've never seen anything like it.

Plenty Of Horror- With Dead Hooker In A Trunk, you caught the attention of Eli Roth, how was that when you found out? and do you think in the future you could do a collaborative project? I could only imagine what your three minds together could come up with.

S: DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK wouldn't have existed without our being so inspired by the multi-collaborative GRINDHOUSE. When the film was finished, we sent the trailer out to all of the directors with a message saying thank you for inspiring us to make this. Eli got back to us in two days and has become a mentor and dear friend of ours. He's one of the coolest guys on the planet and a real horror movie buff - like an encyclopedia of everything in the genre, a brilliant man. I don't know if we'll collaborate, he's already shaped our filmmaking so much. If it ever worked out that way, I'd be stoked.

J: I love Eli Roth. He's a truly wonderful filmmaker and he's been a wonderful friend and mentor to us. He's been there for us with truly the greatest advice we've received in this business. He's given us some very harsh reality and as much as it sucks, the hard stuff to hear has been the most important and empowering. He knows his horror and he's a brilliant business man on top of that. If we ever had an opportunity to collaborate with him I'd love that. We'll see what happens.

Plenty Of Horror- Do you have anything else you’d like to say about the Horror Genre? Or to any of your fan’s reading this?

S: Thank you for taking the time to read this, thank you for supporting the films, that you for watching them, and getting the word out about them. That is the only reason we get to continue to do this, because you have made it so. I can never thank you enough properly, so I'm propose that we promise to keep making original films as a means of thanks for this opportunity. Please check out AMERICAN MARY, see again if you've already seen it, force it on your friends and strangers alike. Hit us up online, twitter - @twisted_twins - our tumblr, our FB pages - twisted twins productions, and if you want to make a film, don't just talk about it, go out and do it. We need more original material now than ever before.

J: I love you. Each and every single one of you. I know a lot of people say it, but we mean it. We're horror fans ourselves first and foremost and to have the horror community embrace us and our work has meant the world to us. And we love you for it. You're the reason we get up in the morning, the first thing we do in the morning being checking in online to see how you're all doing, and the reason not only for why we do what we do, but you're the reason we're able to do what we do. THANK YOU more than I can ever hope to type. If we get to travel to where you are, please come see us. We love meeting you all. And I can say we're only just getting started.

Thanks again!!

Bloody Best,
Jen and Sylv

Popcorn Horror App

I am totally blown away by the App Popcorn Horror. There is so much stale crap in the App store it's super exciting to come across something that you will actually use more than once. Popcorn Horror is a data base on your smart phone featuring the short films of some of the best and frightest up and coming horror filmakers. You will not see any cheap, crappy zombie shorts filmed in someones backyard as it seems the App is screened for quality entries only. Very few filmmakers charge to view their material, so few in fact that it's out of place with the group of free content available to you when you do come across it. The App itself is free so you have nothing to lose jumping into it. This is perfect when you're itching for a moment of chills and thrills on the go, not to mention buckets of gore of course! Or if you need to calm your stress by seeing others have a much worse day than what you just experienced. Get your terror on with Popcorn Horror on your smart phone, one new movie every week, and an entire catalogue of previous entries to also explore.

Header

A “Header” is defined, in the movie, as “The worst revenge tactic conceivable” or “an eye for an eye.”  To further quote the deranged duo “after all, that’s what the bible says don’t it?” What Header really turns out to be is a practical joke played by Edward Lee, the author of the original short story on which the movie is based.
When he was approached to option one of his stories, Edward Lee decided to test the sense of humor of the producers involved by sending them a few more stories, with one of his most depraved tales as a chaser.  (A recollection that is told along with many others in the extensive and hilarious special features.) At its core, the flick is two stories that slowly blend together climaxing in an intensely satisfying finale that you have to see to believe.

What is a Header?  That was the question burning in the back of my mind (like a hot drill perhaps?). My wife asked me to keep an eye out for the DVD after she realized it was listed on her favorite author’s (Jack Ketchum of The Lost, The Girl Next Door, and The Offspring fame) IMDB page.  The more I tried to research the movie, instead of going with a blind buy, the more the same question continued to surface. Adding fuel to that fire, of course, is the official website www.whatsaheader.com

As far as gore is concerned I have to give props to Terry Radowski and his team for their truly disturbing makeup effects, they come fresh out of the school of Savini and it shows, way to go boys!

If you enjoy testing your gag reflex or just like that purely fucked up shit, you will have fun with this. Grab a six pack, a few friends and I guarantee you will be laughing through the credits and feeling dirty long after. I can't tell you what a Header is though because finding out first hand is half the fun!
